Subscribe them to the fitness club. Find out a diet program. And cats will be in fit.
portion control and controlled feeding times. getting a rx diet like royal canin calorie control or low fat can help. it’s more expensive food, but les expensive that diabetes and insulin for your pets life. cats are hard to help loose weight. you may have her thyroid checked too
hey dont worry ,the cat which had high obese problem give some little excercises and low food(low calory food).take the cat for a little walk.dont harm the cat in the name of obese ok. try some little workout with the cat ,they will easily reduce obese.
Recent research on the social behavior of cats seems to indicate that cats may not share their space equally. Therefore, to help create harmony and decrease social tension, it is best to have multiple sites for resources through out the living area. This means multiple food and water bowls as well as litter boxes. These should be spread out throughout the environment.( see link below)
Also from personal experience….You can set up feeding stations for your cats and separate them during feeding time., You can put a feeding station high on the counter or the table for the normal weight cats and keep the feeding station for the overweight cat on the floor. Or vica verca. The overweight cat should be on a special diet, weight management food, it’s okay if the younger cats eat some, not a lot, you don’t want them to loose weight too, but they should have there own brand cause of their development. And it would be a good idea to set up a play time for the obese cat, she needs to get stimulated to help the with the weight loss, buy or make her some new toys and play with her half hour a day at around the same time. Keep the water bowl full and fresh. Also one more thing you can get a feeder toy These are plastic toys that hold dry food with small dispensing holes. When the cat pushes the toy, food comes out. This slows her rate of eating and the black and white cat may realize she is full and stop before she eats more than she needs. I’m surprised the vet didn’t mention anything to you.
I hope this helps.
What you need to do is separate the one cat from the others when it’s time to eat. You also should try to get her to excersize. A lazer light is a good way to do that. My cats love to chase it! Hope this helps!
The remarkable thing about cats is that when they are fed a high quality food with lots of meat protein the slim ones stay the same weight and the fatter ones lose and become slimmer.
Cats evolved to eat only meat and their digestive systems are just not designed for anything else. They can eat it and get fat or be unhealthy and they will live - just not the way they were meant to live.
I would like to know what it is you feed your cats and I can’t email and ask you. Most people feed grocery store food or Science Diet which are made from by-product meat and corn. Corn is used to fatten slaughter animals and that is not your objective in feeding your cats.
So there are canned and bag varieties of Natural Balance, Felidae, Solid Gold (dry only), Lick My Chops, CA Natural (dry only), Eagle Pack, etc. These foods have high quality protein as their first two ingredients and fillers such as brown rice, oats, millet, pea etc.
Canned foods are less fattening than any dry and better for the cats’ kidneys and urinary tract. There again, not Fancy Feast, Whiskas or Friskies which use low-grade meat protein, artificial flavorings and colorings all treated with known carcinogens and labeled unift for human consumption.
So if you will improve the QUALITY of the food you feed the cats they can all eat the same food at the same time and you need not deal with the rigamarole of separate feeding places or schedules. When you eliminate corn from the fat cat’s diet she will stop GAINING and you are ahead right there. Any overweight cat must lose weight gradually (works best for people too). Weigh her when you start on the new food and then again in six months. After a year she will have trimmed down quite a bit. All the cats will be better nourished and healthier.
